As per reports, various top smartphone manufacturing companies were facing the shortage of chipsets. Well known, smartphone processor makers companies AMD and Qualcomm are already facing challenges regarding chipset manufacturing. In addition to this, giant tech company Apple are also facing the shortage of processors. At the same time, the name of Taiwan's chipset maker MediaTek has been added to this list. MediaTek has already increased the price of its chipset by upto 15 percent. 

In such a situation, the price of MediaTek chipset based phone may increase soon. So, it may be expensive for customers to buy a smartphone with MediaTek chipset in the coming days.

Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 898 chipset:

Currently next generation Snapdragon 898 chipset will be launched by Qualcomm by the end of November. According to the reports, up to 15% increase in the price of Mediatek based 4G chipset can be registered. While the manufacturing of Mediatek based 5G chipset processor has registered an increase of up to 15 percent. Samsung's 4nm has been used in Snapdragon 898 chipset. Due to which the processor will consume less battery.

4G LTE smartphone prices will be affected:

The biggest impact of the increase in the price of Mediatek chipset will be seen on 4G LTE enabled chipset. As per reports, the company wants to keep its focus on manufacturing 5G chipsets.
